Chad Arthur Holbrook, son of Lisa and Chic Holbrook, was born November 24, 1990. Chad was the second of four children. An older sister, Holly, and a younger brother, Travis, and sister, Hannah completed the family.
A special son he started and ended each of his days with a smile. He was gifted athletically. He was a thrill to watch on the football field, the baseball field, and, especially, on his favorite, the basketball court. He was a three season athlete who started in each sport, but was always humble about his achievements. These achievements included a trip to the State House as a starting member of the 2007 Super Bowl Champions for Blackstone Valley Tech and the Defensive MVP from the 2008 Thanksgiving game between Blackstone Valley Tech and Nipmuc Regional.
More importantly, to know Chad was to love him. He was simple, uncomplicated, and a boy who brought his smiles and sense of humor to many. Simply put, he touched lives and made a difference.
On September 4, 2009, this world lost Chad to a car accident. He was just 18 years old and had graduated from Blackstone Valley Technical High School only three months before. There are no words for the impact that his loss has brought to his family and friends.
To honor Chad’s memory, his family plans to give out two scholarships every year to deserving Blackstone Valley Tech students. Fundraising in his memory has become the goal of his mom, dad, brother and sisters, and some very special friends.
